Context

the world related to the organization of events is undergoing a profound evolution that is accompanied by the growth of interest that territories have in this “product” which is proving to be able to attract many visitors and to arouse interest and loyalty towards the locations. These events offer a unique opportunity to explore and celebrate Italian diversity, but also to nurture inclusivity with other cultures, becoming valuable opportunities for the transmission of traditions and the creation of intergenerational ties that contribute to preserving Italian cultural heritage.
The Apulia Region has invested heavily in recent years in the organization of major cultural, artistic, musical, entertainment, etc. events capable of conveying with particular effectiveness the image of Apulia, its beauties and its natural and cultural attractions, as well as its varied tourist products. Major events that convey and spread the inspiration of a journey to discover places that are not adequately known, creating interconnections with the territory and increasing the appeal of Puglia. Hence the ITS course intends to respond to the professional need that the Apulian “events system” manifests, to meet ambitious objectives of consolidation and growth of the cultural and artistic segment in particular.

Professional profile

the ITS course prepares a professional figure specialized in the conception, implementation and management of artistic, cultural and entertainment events, such as exhibitions, exhibitions, festivals, etc., also through digital technologies. The role of the Higher Technician is strongly focused on his ability to recognize the characteristics of the historical, artistic, architectural heritage of the territory, and to promote them through the event, taking care of its planning and development, the choice of creative, technical and logistical elements, creating brand building, marketing and communication strategy, script, logistics, budgeting, negotiation and global customer service. If necessary, he/she takes care of planning the collateral activities of a tourist nature reserved for participants, for example through hotel booking, assistance and reception activities but also the organization of visits to the area and leisure activities. He/She also designs and operates for the organization of interregional or international events capable of involving bodies, institutions and economic and entrepreneurial subjects of the territory also through careful planning of aspects related to mobility management.

Skills

Course participants will be able to:

  • develop the idea of the artistic, cultural and entertainment event by defining the fundamental elements of the same (mission, target, concept, expected attendance, timing, logistics, etc.)
  • analyze the target market
  • managing relations with reference interlocutors (private and public), seeking and agreeing on patronage, financial support, etc., and taking care of crowdfunding and fundraising activities
  • take care of the design activities based on public tenders to be carried out thanks to the acquisition of economic and logistical resources made available by the actors of territorial governance (region, ministries, directorates general of the european union, etc.)
  • develop a marketing plan, defining policies for the promotion of cultural and entertainment goods and services, as well as the operational aspects and tools of communication, including digital
  • use digital tools and narrative design techniques
  • design interactive entertainment activities, including gamification
  • provide for the creation of narrative arcs and the use of narrative elements in promotional and marketing materials
  • research and organize spaces, plan hybrid formulas for the use of the event
  • monitor the promotion plan of the event, manage and coordinate the implementation of the activities
  • organize mobility services related to the event
  • organize the tourist services related to the event by enhancing the peculiarities that the territory is able to offer
