Context

in contemporary society, an adequate communication strategy that is in step with the times and favors the creation of an innovative system of cultural dissemination and the improvement of the user experience, can only be based on digital storytelling, which has long been recognized as one of the most innovative communication and interaction options between a cultural institution and its users, able to attract the user of culture through stories that make cultural heritage attractive, whether museum, archaeological monument or work of art. Narrate a museum through small stories, anecdotes, curiosities related to the collections, the people who work there, the characters who have written its history, are all strategic topics in cultural communication, which allow an emotional approach capable of arousing interest in the public. The application of new communication strategies and use of cultural content and experiences is generating an important demand for new professionals in possession of advanced communication skills and able to reformulate and generate new engaging digital and narrative content that can connect material and immaterial, physical and virtual, History and stories. The main training objective of the ITS course is to respond to the demand for professionals able to cope with the increase in communication channels and the strong growth in the application of multimedia technologies to the different and possible declinations of the cultural field.

Professional profile

the course aims to train a figure specialized in digital communication and promotion for the cultural industry, an expert in digital storytelling. A professional able to write and tell a story through images, using the technical cinematographic, television or multimedia apparatus, to decline their own expressive needs or those of the client, and translate them into an emotional story that is effective with respect to the identified objectives. He/she is responsible and coordinator for the production of films, documentaries, web series, fiction and television programs, multimedia shows (live events) and commercials, playing a technical-artistic and organizational role with respect to the various professional figures involved in the production process, he/she has the task of shooting and shooting images for the production of television programs, reports, documentaries and film shoots for the production of films; finally he/she deals with the promotion and distribution of the product made.

Skills

Participants will be able to:

  • write creatively and communicate effectively by combining different multimedia tools
  • develop a creative vision for digital history by participating in the creation of innovative concepts and ideas
  • understand the target audience and engage them through interactivity using elements such as quizzes, maps, branching choices, etc.
  • use digital platforms and technological tools of digital storytelling, such as multimedia editing software, blogging platforms, social media
  • effectively integrate multimedia elements for an immersive experience
  • apply technological innovation, looking for innovative ways to use the opportunities offered by digital in the storytelling process
  • tell the story of the territory and the products/services it offers with new metaphors
  • support creative team coordination and creative asset management
