ITS Course “International Hospitality and Tourism Management 4.0”
Planned location Bari – Biennium 2024-2026
Territorial declination: national figure “9.1.2 Higher technician for the development of the processes of management of the offer of the tourism and cultural supply chains”
Context
2023 was the year of definitive recovery for the tourism sector, with the return of international travelers and sales shares for Italian accommodation businesses higher than in 2019. According to a study on companies commissioned by ENIT-Unioncamere to ISNART, as many as 7 out of 10 declare that they closed the year with budget profits. There is a growing awareness of the importance of an offer more oriented towards environmental sustainability and green services, in particular with respect to high-spending foreign demand, and greater attention to staff training, considered a fundamental lever for qualifying its offer.
In Puglia in 2023, 16.3 million presences were exceeded, with a growth in international tourism of 22% for arrivals and 16% for presences compared to the previous year. The objective of regional tourism policies has two central objectives: on the one hand, the expansion of the offer and the season over time, and on the other, the involvement of territories other than those more touristically accommodated: villages, hinterland, rural landscapes. In the face of the increase in quality that international demand generates, it is essential to work on raising the quality of the offer in terms of infrastructure, services and professional skills. Hence this course, which focuses on aspects related to the two elements of excellence in our country, hospitality and catering and, at the same time, allows the acquisition of skills that can be spent in the travel sector, from production to brokerage.
Professional profile
the “Higher Technician for the management of tourist-accommodation facilities” is a figure who collaborates in an innovative way in the management of tourist-accommodation companies, travel production and brokerage companies, as well as public and private organizations that provide tourist services. It knows how to enhance the authentic identity of the Italian way of life and, at the same time, is able to participate in the production of an offer characterized by a high level of exclusivity and personalization, as required by a growing international demand and contributes to the creation of an integrated, unique tourist offer, through cultural and sporting, business, congress, food and wine and luxury wedding events, in which the element of the tourist’s well-being becomes central.
